A classic day at the Badger State Games

CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN THE BEST THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ALL SEASON. tRACKS WERE FIRM AND DEEP. COLD TEMPS TONIGHT SHOULD SET UP A PERFECT TRAIL FOR TEH FREESTYLE RACES TOMORROW.

WAX RECOMMENDATION
Badger State Games
Nine Mile Trails: near Wausau, WI
Sat, 4 February: Various length Classic races from 9AM-1PM, 10K
Skate Race @ 1:30PM
Sun, 5 February: Various length Skate races from 9AM to 1:30PM

Forecast/Conditions: Fri night lows in the low to mid teens
with Sat highs in the low to mid 20’s with a chance of flurries before
and during the event. Sat night lows near 10’F with Sun highs in the
low 20’s. Expect machined track conditions.

Glidewax: Both Days: Apply Dibloc LF Moly, scrape and brush
then apply Dibloc HF Blue (Afternoon races use HF Red) , scrape and
brush. Rub on Jetstream High Speed Moly Block and Roto-Cork with
dedicated Roto-Cork. Brush into ski base with dedicated Nylon
Polishing Brush. Lightly rub on Jetstream High Speed Moly Block
and Polish with Thermo Pad. (Note that Helx Cold would also be an
excellent fluorocarbon choice for this event)

Gripwax: Saturday: Roughen grip zone with 180 grit sandpaper.
Apply Base Green, iron, and smoothen with cork while still warm.
Apply 2-3 layers Carbon Blue thoroughly corking each layer. For
those who need more grip substitute Carbon Violet for Carbon Blue.
Structure: Cold Universal (Fine Non-Linear) Stonegrind or 1 pass
with the Fine Non-Linear Toko Structure-Rite Tool.
